High minded script that you cannot believe that people would actually say out loud. That is probably the intent of the author. People don't say these types of things outloud generally, but they say them in a roundabout way" or discourage you by other means or don't tell you why they made the decision they did.
A look at movies, with a quick study of their plots, whether it is plausible or not, the ironies of the story and some of the serious philosophies that were displayed in the film, whether by the director, set designer or the cinematographer.

Atlas Shrugged
As the old fable says, "Atlas held the world on his shoulder", but then he decided to be aloof or apathetic, so he shrugged and the world became a mess. At least our world, a world of democracies advancing, has turned more socialistic, slowly but surely. Without warning or action by anybody.
Hanna
Artsy but action-packed
Visual foreshadowing included a white swan at the beginning and at the final scene.
A caribou/elk at the first and then a deer at the end. But the words, I just missed your heart was the more dramatic foreshadowing.

Limitless
My favorite movies revolve around human potential.
The first was Groundhog Day
The next was Phenomenon.
Now we have Limitless. Where can we get NZT 51 ?
